The Houston, Texas man who fatally shot himself had recently been released from jail. He and his wife were arguing when she told him she thought he drank too much. He then shot her and her son in the head before taking his own life.

KHOU Houston Texas reported:

?According to investigators, a man who had recently been released from jail first shot his wife in the head after she confronted him over his drinking. Police said her 30-year-old son went outside to call 911. His stepdad shot him when he walked back inside the house.?

Apparently, the wife played dead on the floor in an attempt to save her own life.

Neighbors in statements made to KHOU said that although they had heard shouting and screaming. They thought nothing of it as the family was known for their fighting.

Barbara Estrada:

?It’s emotional because I have lived on this street for so long, but, considering the people, not really. They are known for their activities, shall we say. I don’t know how to put it but it hasn’t been pleasant.?

Both the wife and her son are expected to recover.
