A billboard has sprung up on I-20 outside of Birmingham, Alabama, with what is considered a racial message from a 221-word mantra?that has motivated violent acts.

The Birmingham News:

?The billboard faces westbound I-20 drivers as they head into Birminghma, before I-20 intersects with I-459. It is located nearby the Shops of Gran River, which are in Leeds, but? the sign is actually within Birmingham city limits.?

Leeds? Mayor, David Miller, wants no association with the sign.

?The City of Leeds is a community with a long history of racial harmony, and wants to make it clear to all that it has no connection with this sign and categorically and unequivocally denounces the racist message portrayed on this billboard.?

Interestingly enough, no one knows who is responsible for the racist billboard which reads, ?Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white.?

According to The Southern Poverty Law Center, the message can be traced back to the ?Mantra? written by segregationist Robert Whitaker who blamed ?immigration for a ‘genocide’ facing white people.? This mantra has been a motivator in violence fueled by racism.

The mantra has been spread by an online community, White Rabbit Radio, ran by who we now know as Timothy Gallaher Murdock. Calling themselves ?the swarm,? they post the mantra to various news websites, YouTube, etc? relentlessly.

Murdock claims he does not know who paid for the billboard; however, he offered an explanation of the meaning to Fox 6 News.

?The point of the message is when white people are called racist to give them something to say, something to say to defend themselves so they don’t just sit silently keep getting beaten over the head over and over again.?

It may be that I have a sinus infection currently, but it took me several times of reading his explanation to even begin to grasp any sort of meaning behind it. Pretty sure if someone is calling you a racist, they have a good reason behind doing so. I strive to treat all people around me equal. This does not make me anti-white. It makes me anti-ignorant.
