A young boy is recovering after being shot in the face by an enraged driver on I-10 in Kenner, Louisiana.
A 26-year-old man is in police custody after shooting a 10-year-old boy in the face in what can only be described as an act of extreme road rage and stupidity.
David Jackson and the owner of a red pickup truck cut each other off multiple times which lead to Jackson’s violent outburst. Jackson was driving an Acura.
WDSU reported:
?Jackson and the red truck then passed each other several more times? Jackson pulled alongside of the pickup truck and began firing a gun into the truck striking the 10-year-old rear male passenger, according to police.?
Jackson was not alone in his vehicle though. His passengers included his 25-year-old girlfriend and his two children, ages six and five.
To prevent Jackson from escaping, the driver of the pickup truck rammed Jackson’s vehicle and followed in pursuit.
The Times-Picayune reported that ?Jackson was charged with aggravated criminal damage to property, attempted second degree murder, illegal possession of a firearm by a felon, illegal carrying of weapons and passion with the intent to distribute crack cocaine and other traffic violations.?
Jackson was already on parole for drug distribution and felony possession of a weapon.
The young boy was grazed by the bullet around his nose and ?had fragments strike him in his sinus cavity.?
I’m not sure what sort of ammunition this could be used for in the great gun debate (I will stay neutral here). In no way though should this man have had a gun. Obviously, he has anger issues and a problem with following the law. He was a felon to begin with but still had access to a firearm that by law he’s prohibited from having. Fortunately in this case, a young boy is only injured and not killed.
So what do we do Liberal Americans? Do we implement and enforce stricter gun laws, or do we say it will only lead to more black market gun purchases? Do we fight the existing black market gun trade instead? Do we say it’s a case of emotional/mental health issues since it is obvious there are extreme anger issues?
