While no one wants to hear that a baby dies after seven hours in a hot car, as the temperatures rise, these tragedies begin to occur.

The most recent incident comes from Atlanta, GA. Wednesday, as 33-year-old Justin Ross Harris, left his 22-month-old son in a hot SUV for seven hours while he was at work. Harris was supposed to drop his son off at his daycare facility before arriving at work.

Instead, the child, named Cooper, was left in his car seat as temperatures rose to 91 degree in metro Atlanta that day. Apparently, Harris said he did not notice his son was still in the vehicle until he was driving back home. That is when Mr. Harris pulled over at the Akers Mill Square shopping center and began CPR on the child.

Once paramedics and police arrived at the scene, the distraught Mr. Harris had to be handcuffed. Witnesses also described hearing the father screaming ?What have I done? What have I done? I’ve killed our child.?

While the investigation is still ongoing, as there are many questions regarding ?the circumstances surrounding this incident, Mr. Harris has been arrested and charged with murder in the toddlers death.

While some will find it hard to understand how someone could forget their child in a hot vehicle, others will no doubt feel that there is absolutely no excuse for such an irresponsible and deadly act.

Either way, please remember this hot summer, there is no event so important, or any schedule so hectic, that your child is not priority number one.
