Straight from a horror movie for all parents, a 15-year-old-girl was infected with HIV after chat line encounters with an older Texas man began in 2012.
On Tuesday, 31-year-old Matthew Louis Reese, pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault of a child with a deadly weapon, aggravated sexual assault with serious bodily injury, and sexual assault of a child.
All charges served consecutively could result in a sentence of 95- years. One has to wonder if the sentence fits the crime. Especially considering the age of the victim, and the possible death sentence that this?monster, imposed upon an innocent child.
While the girl is now 17-years-old, she testified Tuesday and mentioned meeting Reese on a phone chat line. She also testified that she was a virgin at the time and had never even kissed.
Reese eventually pressured the girl into a sexual encounter, and it wasn’t until the girl was hospitalized and in a coma for two-weeks, that she was diagnosed and the police became involved.
As if things could not be worse, Reese knew that he was infected with the HIV virus since 2006. So whether it’s the fact that a 31-year-old man preyed upon an innocent child for sex, or that he knowingly infected her with the disease, no sentence that Reese receives will ever give this poor girl her health back.
