Phoenix Man Caught ‘Upskirting’ At ATM

upskirting

According to ABC 15 in Phoenix, police are trying to identify a man who was caught on tape taking cell phone pictures up a woman’s skirt.

Sgt. Steve Martos said the incident happened just before 3 p.m. on May 19 near 29th Drive and Peoria Avenue.

The man is seen in the footage standing right behind the woman at the ATM which is located right outside the front doors of the bank.

The suspect is described as a male between the ages of 30-40 years ago, 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, according to a press release.

The man is believed to be driving a white Ford F-150 pickup truck, which was towing a flatbed trailer similar to those used for landscaping, said Martos.

It would be easy to push this off as a random incident and not a very big deal but the truth is this violation of women’s privacy happens often and in some places is legal. The practice has a name: “upskirting.”

The Massachusetts legislature recently passed a ban on upskirting after their high court had said that it wasn’t a crime since the women in question are fully clothed. Chicago too has passed a similar measure to close a loophole that made this practice legal.

Let’s hope this suspect is caught and gets his day in court soon.
