Anti-Choice Lawmaker Is Asked A Simple Question He’s Never Considered

Ohio state rep abortion heartbeat bill

Ohio State Rep. Jim Buchy (R-OH) feels like he knows what the problem is with America: abortion. Why does he believe this? Well, just cuz.

Since he knows so much about women’s lady bits, reproduction, the struggles of women, and abortion, he has co-sponsored HB 248 — commonly known as the “heartbeat” abortion bill — which would ban most abortions after?the first fetal heartbeat is detected.

The first fetal heartbeat is usually detected around the 10th week of pregnancy.

This is a huge concern because many women do not find out that they are even pregnant before the 10th week and many abnormalities in fetuses don’t present themselves until long after 10 weeks.

If HB 248 is enacted, it will be a fifth degree felony for doctors who perform abortions after a heartbeat is detected.

Hb 248 also defines conception as “fertilization.”

Here is what HB 248 demands:

Abortions are only permitted if there is risk of death or a ?serious risk of the substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function of the pregnant woman?.

[…]

A woman is required to sign a form acknowledging she has received information that the ?unborn human individual? has a fetal heartbeat and that she is aware of the statistical probability of bringing her pregnancy to term. Doctors must then declare in writing why an abortion was performed and record and report this information.

HB 248 defines contraceptive as ?a drug, device, or chemical that prevents conception.? Additionally, the bill defines conception as ?fertilization.?

When interviewed by Al Jazeera for a documentary, Buchy was asked one simple question by?the young woman who was interviewing him. It wasn’t a trick question. It was just a simple question that anyone interviewing him would ask him. And he couldn’t answer.

“What do you think?makes a woman want to have an abortion?”

And here, my good people, is his answer.

“There’s [sic] probably a lot of reasons. I’m not a woman, so (chuckle chuckle chuckle). I’m not a woman, so….I don’t know. So I’m thinking ‘if I’m a woman, why would I….’ I don’t know. It’s a question I never even thought about. “

You know what? Wow. This is the man who is doing his best to ban abortion in Ohio. Not only is he fighting to pass the “heartbeat bill,” but he has admitted that it’s his goal to ban all abortion.

This is why most men should stay out of women’s business. Let me say that particularly, wealthy middle-aged men should stay out of women’s business. They can in no way, ever,?under our circumstances, understand our struggles.

We link to these random bills in our articles primarily to show our source for information. In this case, I strongly recommend that Liberal Americans read this bill. It’s terrifying. It’s dangerous. It will blow your minds.

And Mr. Buchy? Screw you.
