Ted Cruz Holds Another Secret Meeting With House GOP, Plots ‘Revolution’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) seems to live by the motto “Divide and Be Divisive.” Last year, he went behind House leadership’s back to meet with House conservatives at Capitol Hill restaurant Tortilla Coast?and now he’s up to his usual tricks once again. He gathered Republican members of the House who are disgruntled and dissatisfied with House Speaker John Boehner for what he called a “private meeting.”.

Cruz gathered approximately 10 Republican represenatives at 8 p.m. on Tuesday and the group spent 90 minutes eating candy and drinking soda as they did whatever they were doing — presumably scheming and plotting and whining about their woes with Speaker Boehner. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) described the meeting as a “rap session” with no agenda. Brooks said that they talked about a “variety of different public policy issues” that included immigration and Boehner’s recent “mocking” of radicals House Republicans.

Watch Boehner in this video:

Brooks also bemoaned the fact that the top leaders in the House are from an “Obama state” and not a “Mitt Romney state.” He feels that more “diversity” is needed.

Diversity. OK. White and whiter? Kooky and kookier? Radical and more radical?

If Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS)?is to be believed, however, the “private meeting” was a tad bit more than just a “rap session.” He wouldn’t admit to attending the meeting, but when asked he replied “We were at a lot of places. I’m not at liberty ? I might have to admit to my wife some of those meetings I go to, so, no, I can’t say.? And check out the Tuesday Tweet from Huelskamp.

As Rachel Maddow says, watch this space. I suspect more taxpayer-dollar-wasting shenanigans are on the horizon. Read more at Roll Call.
