Via Facebook: "A man inside a bus in Surrey, BC, gratefully wears socks and shoes given him by a man who then walked away barefoot on wet pavement. The donor has refused to be identified, saying he does not seek publicity for an act of kindness. We can really change our world with a single act of kindness per day."

Surjit Singh Virk, an off-duty Coast Mountain Bus Co. driver, witnessed a “soul-touching” incident last Saturday. He noticed that a rider on the bus that he was on was wearing plastic hairnets?on his feet instead of shoes. Then, to his amazement, he watch as the man was given a pair of shoes by another bus passenger.

From The Toronto Sun:

?It made my heart melt,? Virk?told QMI Agency. ?He just took his shoes and socks off and said, ‘You can take these, don’t worry about me ? I live close by and can walk.’

“People usually don’t care or even look at other people on the bus, they didn’t even want to sit beside this guy because of how he was dressed.?

Via Facebook: "A generous man walks away after handing over his socks and shoes to a shoeless man who was riding a bus in Surrey, B.C. The man is seen walking on wet pavement with his head bowed. What a guy. When approached by the media, he said he did not wish to be identified because his act of kindness did not need publicity."

The man who gifted the shoes was contacted by phone and asked to remain anonymous. According to his Islamic faith, charitable acts should be anonymous. He gave this statement:

?I felt bad for the guy,? the 27-year-old donor, a Surrey resident, said. ?He was wearing plastic hairnets on his feet. I was only about a two-minute walk from home, so I thought I could give him my shoes.?

Singh Virk said that the recipient was “shocked” by the gesture.

?What a nice guy… Did that really happen??
