Progressives across the country have kept their fingers crossed and hopes held high, preparing ?Elizabeth for President? signs just in case their favorite Massachusetts senator decides to enter the 2016 presidential race.
It looks like they’ll have to tuck those signs into the closet for now, though, Warren said this weekend.
In an April 20 interview with CBS This Morning, Warren made her stance clear with a firm and repeated reply to reporter Mark Strassmann’s question:
?I’m not running for president.?
The nine-minute feature (see video below) focused on Warren’s new book, “A Fighting Chance,? which will be released this week.
?It’s written out of gratitude for my start and the opportunities that America built for me, and how I think that’s what we’ve got to do again. I’m committed to that.?
Warren took third place in a recent poll on the Iowa presidential primary, trailing Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. When the former Sec. of State and current Vice President are removed from the slate, Warren moved up to first with 21 percent.
The Washington Post had recently listed Warren to be a serious contender, as well, calling her the ?one person in the Democratic Party who has a credible path to beating Hillary Rodham Clinton in a 2016 Democratic primary.?
