Scotland’s Loch Ness Monster (a.k.a., Nessie) has been a source of legend since full-time water bailiff and part-time journalist, Alex Campbell first reported a sighting. According to Campbell, a London tourist, George Spicer and his wife claimed to have seen?”‘the nearest approach to a dragon or pre-historic animal that I have ever seen in my life,’ trundling across the road toward the Loch carrying ‘an animal’ in its mouth.”

Soon, a sightings began happening on a regular basis, and although we hear less about Nessie as time has gone on. The latest sighting was 18 months ago, until now. Loch Ness Monster fans have reported that the Apple Map satellite has picked up a compelling image of the creature.

The map spotted a (from the surface) jelly fish looking creature, but it is estimated to be about 100 foot in length and it has what looks like fins.

“We’ve been looking at it for a long time trying to work out exactly what it is,” Gary Campbell, president of the Official Loch Ness Monster Fan Club,?told the Daily Mail.

“It looks like a boat wake, but the boat is missing. You can see some boats moored at the shore, but there’s one here. We’ve shown it to boat experts and they don’t know what it is.”

Is the monster real? I’m sure science will offer an explanation soon, but Nessie’s fans are convinced, just by its mere size.

“Whatever this is, it is under water and heading south, so unless there have been secret submarine trials going on in the loch, the size of the object would make it likely to be Nessie,” Campbell said.

Of course, like Loch Ness Monster photos of the past, this one could turn out to be just another hoax.
