After embattled NJ Gov. Chris Christie underwent weight loss surgery in June 2013, he slowly began to shed pounds. While most experts say that a slow and steady weight loss is the optimal way to lose weight, some folks — primarily precocious children — are curious as to when Christie will…you know…be skinny for real.

Certainly, though, Gov. Christie has taken off a lot of weight. His previous weight is estimated to be approximately 350 pounds and he says that while he doesn’t necessarily regret his previous weight, he’s enjoying a surprising (to him) side effect to weight loss. From a CNN interview:

?I didn’t feel badly at my previous weight, but I didn’t realize how poorly I slept until how well I’ve been sleeping.?

Watch Christie explain, at a?Monmouth County town hall?on Thursday,?his response to the grade schooler who asked him when he’d be “really thin.”
