Brokenhearted Right Wing Kooks Revoke Coke As America’s Brand (VIDEO)

In a move that surprised no one, the multi-cultural Coke Super Bowl ad apparently made some of the right wing Tea Party nuts near suicidal. #boycottcoke and #fuckcoke Tweets were filling up the Twitter-verse and they all had the same message: This is ‘Merica. Speaky da English. From Mediaite:

Of course, all these protests ignore that the ad was clearly meant to evoke America’s unique ?melting pot? history, and its standing in the world as a place to which millions still aspire to emigrate. Singing a ubiquitous and patriotic tune like ?America the Beautiful? in foreign languages demonstrated that even though we all come from various origins, we all speak the tune of loving America, etc., etc.

One-term booted out GOP Rep. Allen West vented on his website?and called the commercial “truly disturbing”:

“[…] Coca Cola commercial came on and it started rather patriotically with the words of ?America the Beautiful.?Then the words went from English to languages I didn’t recognize.”

So it’s Coke’s fault that Allen West is an uneducated buffoon?

Right wing outlet The Right Scoop said:

America has a culture of its own, primarily denoted by our official language, English, and there are many in our society who would like to destroy that culture and are working hard at doing exactly that.

And then there was Todd Starnes, a Fox News talking head who seems proud to be uneducated unilingual: 2-3-2014 11-07-43 AM

Sen. Lisa Murkowski?said this:

And the best Tweet of all came from our own beloved David Plouffe, 2008 Obama campaign manager and former White House Senior Adviser:2-3-2014 1-44-25 PM

I’m a typical linguistically limited American (I only speak two languages), but I can sure tell these goofballs “you’re an idiot” in a lot of languages. I will, however, do so in the only language they all know: you wankers are idiots.

Here’s the ad for those who haven’t already seen it, or for those who want to enjoy it over and over:
