Why Secretary of State Kerry’s Peace Talks Are A Waste Of Time

john kerry

Anyone holding out hope, expecting something other than the continuation of the status quo?from Secretary of State John Kerry’s trip to the Middle East is either delusional or completely ignorant of the extreme right, neo-conservative Israeli government run by Benjamin Netanyahu and the unyielding influence his Zionist?father, Ben-Zion, wields over?him.

After a marathon of talks between Netanyahu and Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas Kerry told reporters:

We are beginning to flesh out the toughest hurdles yet to be overcome.

Hurdles such as E1, Jerusalem or?the Palestinian right of return?still loom. These are? three major issues which in previous peace talks have always posed barriers in the way of reaching any agreement.? Not to mention Netanyahu’s ridiculous past?restrictions, e.g. a Palestinian state that has no army, no control over borders or air space and the continued presence of Israeli troops in the Jordan Valley.? In other words, pseudo sovereignty.

The likelihood Netanyahu is willing to rattle his uber nationalist base, let alone his neo-conservative coalition and make meaningful concessions towards the establishment of a two-state agreement is beyond wishful thinking.? But, as Israeli Finance Minister Yair Lapid reveals in an interview following the 2013 election, the reason for the failed agreements lies at the root of the problem. Here, a quote from??Yair Lapid sums it up nicely:

The problem with this negotiation is that the Israelis and Palestinians want two very different things: the Palestinians want peace and justice; the Israelis want peace and security. And we will always be in conflict there.

But an even deeper truth lies in the fact that a Zionist Israel cannot coexist with a free and sovereign Palestine.? The founding fathers of the state of Israel never intended upon sharing power with their Arab occupants.??? But don’t take my word for it.

The Jews and the Arabs are like two goats facing each other on a narrow bridge. One must jump to the river ? but that involves a danger of death. The strong goat will make the weaker one jump ?? and I believe the Jewish power will prevail. The two-state solution doesn’t exist. There are no two peoples here. There is a Jewish people and an Arab population. ?? There is no Palestinian people.

Spoken by the Zionist activist and devout follower and personal aide of revisionist Zionist leader Zeev Jabotinsky, Ben-Zion Netanyahu, the father of Benjamin Netanyahu.? Well, this fruit doesn’t fall far from?its tree.
