CNN reports that Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) has been informed that his chief of staff, Ryan Loskarn, is under investigation for child pornography. Loskarn’s residence is being searched by law enforcement officers.
From CNN:
“I am stunned, surprised and disappointed by what I have learned,” the Senator said in a statement. “Based on this information, I immediately placed Mr. Loskarn on administrative leave without pay. The office is fully cooperating with the investigation.”
Loskarn is a long-time GOP strategist and worked for the U.S. Senate Republican Conference before becoming Alexander’s chief of staff in January 2012. Loskarn was named on?Roll Call’s 2009 “Fabulous 50 Movers and Shakers” on Capitol Hill list.
He has also been employed by Reps. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Wally Herger (R-CA).
