Glenn Beck’s Readers Infuriated By Controversial Kmart Ad (VIDEO)

The Internets are ablaze over Kmart’s controversial “Show Your Joe” Christmas commercial. Twitter users are displaying a wide range of emotions, and Kmart’s Facebook page is probably seeing more life than it has in months. While the majority of people are delighted and amused, one special group is not “ablaze”: Glenn Beck’s readers. The headline of the article on The Blaze reads:

?BRASH, UGLY AND DISGUSTINGLY UNCARING?: KMART’S JOE BOXER CHRISTMAS AD IGNITES CONTROVERSY

The ad features a group of six very attractive men wearing tuxedo shirts standing behind a table ringing bells. As the table pulls away, it’s revealed that the men are wearing nothing but boxers from the waist down. As the popular Christmas song “Jingle Bells” begins to play, the group begins to move their hips seductively to the music. Blaze reader reactions:

“Lets honor the birth of the Savior by swinging our genitalia in the faces of American families!”

“[…] they aren’t selling products/services they’re selling a debased mind and rebellious lifestyle.”

“[…]?anyone convinced to buy Joe Boxer at KMart from this ad is laying out a significant portion of their meager welfare earnings to buy the gift for their loved one”

“An ad like this featuring dancing Rachel Maddow look-a-likes singing Christmas Carols in their Joe Boxers?”

“Do Kmart’s customers understand English or read any language?”

“they make great sense to the homosexual and the child predator and the degenerate.”

“it is useful to investigate the men who make those decisions to equate traditional Christmas songs with blacks creating music with their dangling testicles.”

“Just because scumbags are leading our nation right now doesn’t mean we need to follow them.?As a matter of fact, it’s a real good time to head the other direction ? to THE LIGHT.”

“AMERICA has become a nation of accepting, inappropriate, vile, evil things.”

“GOD SAYS, don’t just walk away from such, but RUN AWAY from it.”

“Do homosexual men shop at KMart?”

“What ever happened to good ole Michal Jordan for Hanes and the Fruit of the a Loom talking fruit guys?”

“This is a direct result of the Gangstahooding of America.”

“Note the two reactors are an old ?white? guy and ?white? ?suburban? mom.?NOT who K-mart was going for.

Wrong. For the first time in decades, Kmart has absolutely managed to capture the attention of at least one “suburban mom” (me) and I’ll bet I’m not unique (wink wink). Kmart’s statement to The Huffington Post:

The Kmart ?Show Your Joe? commercial playfully showcases Joe Boxer’s men’s clothing available at Kmart. We regret if some people found the commercial offensive, as that was not our intent.

It wasn’t their intent to offend with the “Show Your Joe” commercial, perhaps, but my bet is that Kmart will be “jingle all the way” to the bank. They’re not being quick to take stop playing the commercial, and I doubt they will. And shouldn’t. This may be the first time ever that some of us have been excited to see Christmas commercials popping up before Thanksgiving. Feliz Navidad!
