Just when you think Conservatives can stoop no lower, they do. The Young Conservatives of Texas will be holding a most despicable event with their chapter at the University of Texas at Austin this coming Wednesday, a ‘Catch an Illegal Immigrant‘ game. Now, we won’t even get started on how incredibly racist such a game is. The event’s?Facebook page?will tell you all you need to know:
[t]here will be several people walking around the UT campus with the label ?illegal immigrant? on their clothing. Any UT student who catches one of these ?illegal immigrants? and brings them back to our table will receive a $25 gift card.
The event, hosted by Lorenzo Garcia, is supposed to “spark?spark a campus-wide discussion about the issue of illegal immigration, and how it affects our everyday lives.? Hmph. This coming from the same guy who, earlier this year, held an equally racist affirmative action bake sale, supposedly to spark the same sort of discussion on that subject.
Something tells me that Mr. Garcia is just a bigot, perhaps against his own race. Sad, and shameful, but true.
Then again, what can we expect for someone who, until recently, worked for Greg Abbott? We shouldn’t be surprised by this behavior at all.
