Tea Party’s Next Ted Cruz- MS’s Chris McDaniel May Have Challenger

Mississippi state senator Chris McDaniel, who?Amy Kremer, chairwoman of the Tea Party Express, compared favorably to congressional Tea Party darlings Rand Paul of Kentucky, Ted Cruz of Texas and Mike Lee of Utah,?according to the Jackson Free Press,??may not have the republican primary field all to himself if U.S. Senator Thad Cochran retires.

According to the Cottonmouth blog, in a live chat with Mississippi newspaper the Clarion-Ledger, Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann (R) was asked if he is getting in the Republican primary race for the U. S. Senate next year. His response was:

We have a senator right now. He will make his mind I believe shortly whether he is running again. I am honored to be considered for a seat to represent Mississippi in the United States Senate and would quickly address this question if Senator Cochran retires.

It has been reported?that Hoseman already has staff working on digging up intel and dirt on McDaniel Olivia Pope and Associates style; including an accusation that McDaniel voted in the 2004 Democratic primary and has missed some major Republican elections.

Did I add that Delbert Hoseman is mister voter I.D. is great even if it leads to voter suppression? So, him wanting someone to vote more is kind of funny to me.? ?McDaniel is flat out denying he ever voted as a Democrat, but considering the changing makeup of Mississippi politics in the last 10 years, and the fact that we have open primaries, it’s possible. McDaniel’s team is also taking issue with how Hoseman’s team is doing their research and that the records are electronic.

It seems the season for the GOP to ?eat their own? in Mississippi has begun. Please don’t judge me if I get out the popcorn and a glass of red wine. http://liberalamerica.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/McDaniel-Teabag.jpg
