‘The Oldest Profession’ Soon To Have Insurance – Thanks Obama!

The ACA (Affordable Care Act), in case you have been living under a rock, or perhaps in a red state where it’s better known as “ObamaCare,” has been at the top of the “Things the GOP Hates” list for a number of years, with gay people, the Earth, women, and brown people running a close second. They have wasted countless dollars in wages voting forty some odd times to repeal the law and shutdown the government in an attempt to defund the law, costing the taxpayers?$24 billion, all after the laws passing in 2009. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more gratifying watching the GOP (not) admit defeat, wait until you think about the following.

ObamaCare will be able to finally make healthcare affordable to workers in “the oldest profession,”?with many of them qualifying for the tax credit. Yes, that means tax dollars, including John Boehner’s and Ted Cruz’s, will be going toward supplementing the cost of their healthcare. That includes “ladies (and gentlemen) of the night.” This could possibly be the proverbial straw for Boehner, causing him to fully regress into infancy and revert to thumb sucking, leaving behind the days of his toddler tears.

Not only are these workers going to be healthier, they are also organizing for the betterment of the group (dun dun). Siouxsie Q, age 28 and an adult worker, planned an event called “Healthy Ho’s Party,” in which attendees, also workers in the industry, were encouraged to enroll in the ObamaCare exchanges. Out of almost 40 present at the ‘hoedown,’ nearly all completed the enrollment paperwork. They look at themselves as any other small business. They do not have the benefit of employer coverage.

Siouxsie and her partner have tried to purchase insurance in the past, but after being quoted everything from $400-500 they knew it was something their budget just wouldn’t allow. Now with the ACA in place, as of Jan. 1st next year, she and her partner will be able to get healthcare for around the same price, but with a tax credit worth approximately $275 a month, they will only end up paying around $175 out of pocket.??Other stories?of guests at the event were similar.

That’s right Boehner, your tax dollars will be used to help fund healthcare for lesbian ‘working women’. Who says there is no such thing as karma? As one attendee, who happens to be working on her master’s in public health, noted, “Their tax dollars are going into other programs that deal with the aftermath of not having healthcare. We’re paying for it anyways, and we’re paying for it in a way that people still get sick and still die.” I always liked ObamaCare, as much as someone who is much more for a single payer system could like the mandate route, but I must admit, the longer it’s around the more I love it.
