A friend of mine posted this article titled Up Close With Ken Cuccinelli: Family Man Who is ‘Not Afraid to be an Outsider.’ ?I spent 25 years in Virginia, so I read it because I still follow Virginia politics. After the first paragraph I was like, ?This chick really thinks this is good political writing??

First off, this was not an article telling me anything of substance about this candidate. This was a puff piece written by a submitter that just happens to be ?a very close friend? of Coochie’s (an affectionate name for Cuccinelli) younger brother. The entire article touts all the great things about Coochie and smacks of kiss-ass-give-me-favors-when-you-get-elected pure and unadulterated bunk.

The PolitiChicks About page states that their goal is to ?provide news, original commentary, and video in our inimitable, innovative way and we will also continue to bring you interviews from the nation’s political leaders, newsmakers and Conservative entertainers.? This article had me LMAO with the blatant attempt to make Coochie a saleable product.

The most striking thing in the entire article is the almost constant references to race. You would think that Coochie has a reputation as a racist and that this writer, a Korean-American, is trying desperately to make us believe that because he knows a Korean- American chick that grew up in his neighborhood he can’t possibly be racist.

One of the first references is that he can play basketball, after which she declares:

This white dude can jump.

She continues relating instances of working with Coochie on a case of bullying at Virginia Tech where she refers to the perpetrators as ?white boys? several times. Yes ? in quotes, just like that. She refers to the Korean-American boys that were being bullied as ?nerd kids.” ?She finishes by claiming that he could have used his intervention in this matter as a political talking point, but chose not to. Guess what? She just did.

Throughout the entire article, the writer makes reference to how multi-cultural Coochie is. She uses references from their college days and early childhood. She mentions that Coochie attended a private all-boy school in Washington DC which catered to ?the elitist walks of life? but then she segues into a declaration that the school proudly gave scholarships to ?young, talented men in the African-American communities.? She claims that this is where young Coochie learned about life outside their nice ?safe? neighborhoods. Excuse me for being cynical, but this smacks of the rich ?white boy? having one black friend and claiming that he is now culturally diverse.

It might have been easier for Coochie to do what Jerry did to find a black friend in this video:

Or maybe he could just sign up for services with Black Friend Connect.

According to this writer, many Democrat politicians have told her that it scares them to think about Coochie shaking hands with people because they might like him. She neglects to mention any names. Who are these mystery ?politicians?? If she is classifying herself as a political writer, what measly imagined self-importance would qualify one as a Democratic politician? My opinion? You can’t hide racism, even if you do have a Korean-American friend who is willing to compose little anecdotes that profess to prove your multi-cultural appeal.

This entire article (and I use that word hesitantly) was a blatant attempt to correct the downward spiral of the poll numbers. Virginia citizens are realizing that just because this man has a huge family doesn’t mean that he is the best choice for governor. His past record of fanaticism, racism?and voting against women stands on its own.
