Homeland Security Employees Using Overtime To Watch Netflix

Netflix is great, you can catch up on all the movies and television shows you have missed for just a dollar. There is, however, a right time and a wrong time to engross you’re self in catching up on the top blockbuster hit.

An OSC officer has recently reported to the Washington Post that the number of people claiming overtime to do just that is astronomical, especially in about six different Homeland Security Offices. The amount of unclaimed overtime made for unforeseen events and projects, sits quietly in a small metaphorical bowel that is not supposed to be used unless necessary.

People are using up to two hours of overtime a day just to watch Netflix and catch up with their friends and family. This misuse of funds bumps government paychecks up by twenty five percent and costs the government $8.7 million dollars in wasted government funds a year.

The OSC whistleblower, talking about the type of people using these funds, said:

They are not border patrol guys chasing bad guys who can’t stop what they are doing and fill out paperwork for overtime. These are employees sitting at their desks, collecting overtime because it’s become a culturally acceptable practice.

The whistleblowers made sure to report this after realizing the money wasn’t being used for its true purpose. $8.7 million dollars of Netflix, conversations with mom, and catching up with your high school BFF, yet we can’t afford to pay more than below poverty for minimum wage workers, that is truly the amazing factor here.
