Your Peanut Butter May Be Killing Orangutans (VIDEO)

A rising movement is taking place against the deforestation and destruction that palm oil is causing on our planet and the species on it.

Palm Oil is a form of vegetable oil used in many products including baked goods, cosmetics, and more. The use of palm oil has risen dramatically in today’s society because it’s cheap and abundant. However there are many other alternatives that can be used.

Unfortunately, harvesting and manufacturing this unnecessary resource has led to a near extinction of the orangutan species. This video portrays a small, deaf child signing to an orangutan online who is asking for help due to human’s incessant greed. Though the depiction isn’t real, it touches the core of the issue.

When will we stop destroying the lives of our most precious creatures, just for a little oil?
