Senate Majority PAC Attacks McConnell in Kentucky, Grimes Hands Him A Surprising Point

Republicans are becoming more and more desperate to defeat Obamacare, and it shows, as they go head to head with Democrats. Senate Majority PAC just bought a huge radio advertisement in Kentucky and aimed it ?at ?Mitch McConnell.

The ad chides McConnell for being out of touch with Kentucky voters. Last week, ?the pro-McConnell super PAC Kentuckians for Strong Leadership ran radio ads charging that Democratic Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes is a “tool of Nevada Sen. Harry Reid, the ‘liberal boss of the U.S. Senate'” who ?loves Obamacare.?

This comes shortly after Kentucky’s embracing of Obamacare comes from the state’s top official ,Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear, who says:

It’s going to inject about 15.6 billion dollars in the state of Kentucky over the next year.

In late August, at the annual Kentucky State Fair,?Grimes drew criticism for being a ?Buzz Kill? ?for blaming the fair’s famed donut burger for rising healthcare costs in the commonwealth.

Mitch McConnell continues to parade himself as a champion of Kentucky values, while disenfranchising the state’s poor and elderly, who benefit from Obamacare. The guardian of gridlock’s role as majority leader has left him incapable of being a statesman in the Bluegrass State.

Despite the Governo’rs embrace of Obamacare,?Grimes has been tip-toeing with the Affordable Care Act stating:

I am troubled by some of the provisions. The mandate will not work for many small businesses in Kentucky,so I believe that a delay is the right course so that changes can be made.

This is incredibly troubling, considering that she is handing Mitch McConnell exactly what he wants, and granting him a point on his scorecard for what he does best… delaying legislation. Grimes is going to have to stay on message and draw a clear line between herself and Sen. McConnell. Attacking McConnell for being part of the ?disease of dysfunction? in Washington, D.C., and then promoting delay of healthcare for Kentucky’s poor and elderly does not win her style points on the campaign trail. No major legislation is ever passed that doesn’t include provisions that are unsavory to some. Social legislation is like Kentucky bourbon, if it doesn’t age… its not worth a damn.
