Just amazing. Here is a?perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black. Okay, maybe not the perfect example. It’s more like the Koch Brothers calling Obama black. Yes, the Koch boys are at again. This time, they are lying under the guise of a very nonprofit, nonpartisan, youth-alluring organization called Generation Opportunity. It’s always amusing to see how Koch-driven organizations are named. They usually sound like ‘for the people’ kind of groups, when in fact they are designed to cater to the filthy?rich, powerful and corrupt. For instance,?Citizens United sounds good, until it’s discovered that they are the organization designed to allow our political candidates, campaigns, and ultimately our laws to be bought and sold by the highest bidders. And here we thought Citizens United was a group of upstanding concerned citizens uniting for good causes. Oh, those Koch Brothers, they’re such cards.
This new Koch Brothers/Tea Party/GOP campaign against Obamacare is not humorous – it’s ridiculous. The ad depicts a young woman in her late teens/early twenties, who is visiting the doctor for a Pap smear. On her way into the examining room, the nurse passive-aggressively shames the young woman for choosing Obamacare. The female is told to disrobe, get into her gown and hop on the table. The doctor comes in, tells the woman to put her feet in stirrups, and then mysteriously leaves the room. Lo and behold, up pops Uncle Sam in character. Isn’t that special. He’s there, I presume, to signifying the government is controlling her body in the most intimate ways.
Here’s the ironic part. This ad is promoted by the same gang that wants to cram an ultrasound wand up a woman’s vagina as a government requirement, before she can have an abortion. These are the same people that demand a woman sit through a government-mandated lecture on why she might not want to have an abortion – before she can have an abortion. This is the same misogynist party that is putting so many government stipulations on abortion procedures, that many facilities have had to close down. ??Yes, the hip sounding Tea Party-influenced Generation Opportunity want to rid us all of Obamacare, which allows all people to have access to health insurance even with pre-existing illnesses. Anyone who had ever had to live without health insurance knows what it’s like to live in fear of getting sick or staying sick. People die not getting the proper medical care they need, because they can’t afford it. This is what people are fighting for. That, and benefits like free birth control which reduces abortions, free preventative care which reduces major illnesses, and the right to be treated equally as patients regardless of gender, race, or economic status. Yes, Obamacare is what most Americans want and need, and this is exactly what the Republicans, Tea Party, Koch Brothers, and GOP are trying to take away and destroy.
What can we do? We can start gearing up now to remove these lunatics from office in 2104. Join activist groups. Write blogs. As for the Koch Brothers, get informed. There has been much written about their power and control. We cannot vote them out of office – We can stop buying their products and inform others of Koch Brothers?corruption. Awareness is key.
By the way, there is another ad just as lovely, especially for men. Yes, you can imagine where Uncle Sam pops up in that one.
