George Zimmerman’s Wife Calls 911 On Him, Citing Domestic Violence (VIDEO)

At 2:10 p.m. Monday, Shellie Zimmerman placed a tearful 911 call from her parents’ house claiming that her estranged husband George Zimmerman was at the location threatening her and her father with a gun. However, once?Lake Mary Police?arrived on the scene, the story changed from what was reported to the 911 dispatch operator.

Listen to the call below:

Shelli Zimmerman made a number of claims in the phone call:

“He continuously has his hand on his gun and he keeps saying ‘get closer.’ […] Dad, get inside the house. George might start shooting at us. […] I’m really, really afraid. I don’t know what he’s capable of. […] He’s just threatening all of us.”

Shellie Zimmerman also told the dispatch operator she believed there were witnesses that had seen the altercation, and that George had punched her father, and smashed her iPad device and cut it with a pocket knife.

When speaking with police after the call, Shellie Zimmerman stated that she never saw the gun. Shellie Zimmerman told police she never saw a gun, but saw George Zimmerman’s hands near where she believed he would have had a weapon. Both Shellie Zimmerman and her father, David Bryant Dean, have refused to press charges.

According to?Officer Zach Hudson?of the Lake Mary Police:

“No one ever saw a gun. He said he has no gun on him and we haven’t found a gun. I think she assumed that he had one on his person.”

Police Chief Steve Bracknell?states that because Shellie Zimmerman changed her story about seeing the gun, “domestic violence can’t be invoked.” Police also stated at the time that they could not confirm allegations of a physical assault involving any of the persons at the location. Police did take George Zimmerman into custody for the purpose of “investigative detention,” which is standard procedure, but he was released later that afternoon.

George Zimmerman offered his own story to the public via Twitter claiming that Shellie was the actual aggressor, and that he had acted in a “defensive manner” to her alleged attacks. That feed has been removed, but a few?Twitter users were able to snag the feed?before it was deleted. Essentially, it appears George Zimmerman is once again claiming the “Stand Your Ground” defense in a situation he was legally barred from being in at the private residence of his in-laws.

George Zimmerman told police that he had no gun. Police say they never found a gun on his person. Police have admitted however, they never searched Zimmerman’s truck, which was mentioned in the 911 call by Shellie Zimmerman, because they felt “it wasn’t part of the crime scene” and they didn’t have a warrant to search the vehicle.? At some point, Chief Bracknell became aware of a gun in the vehicle, but did nothing to confiscate it. Bracknell also told the?Los Angeles Times?about his true contempt for George Zimmerman.

Bracknell made the statement:

“We did not take a gun at all, because there was no reason to take a gun, because his gun was in his truck.”

Mark O’Mara, attorney for George Zimmerman, confirmed the existence of a gun that same evening during an interview with CNN’s?Anderson Cooper. O’Mara states point blank that Zimmerman in fact DID have the gun on his person and not in the glove box of his car as Cooper proposed.? O’Mara also admitted that Zimmerman did smash the iPad device that was being used to record the incident.

As of Tuesday,?O’Mara will no longer be representing George Zimmerman?in any future litigation, including his divorce or any possible charges that may result from the Monday incident. He will however, remain the attorney of record for the defamation suit against NBC and any remaining motions stemming from the trial of the murder of Trayvon Martin. Pennsylvania attorney?Jim Beasley?will be the lead attorney on the case.? Mark O’Mara will be appearing as a legal analyst for CNN.

What does all of this mean legally?

According to Chief Bracknell,?”They both have declined to press charges against George Zimmerman. We have no victim, no crime.”

That’s actually not true.? As a?Florida appellate court held, ?the decision to prosecute does not lie with the victim of a crime,? but with the state attorney who must determine whether to pursue the case. Under Florida law, Zimmerman’s alleged actions Monday may have amounted to?aggravated assault, which is a 3rd degree felony?punishable by up to five years in prison. There is also the question of the broken iPad device, which O’Mara has confirmed that Zimmerman did destroy. He could face additional charges of evidence destruction. If Zimmerman is convicted of a felony, He would be legally barred from owning a gun.

It’s also important to note that there is still a Federal Investigation going on in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin and possible charges still could be ?filed as a result of that investigation. If charges are filed in that investigation, spousal privilege will not apply to Shelli Zimmerman if she is divorced from her husband George.? She will be able to testify against him during trial.

Last week, Shellie Zimmerman, filed for divorce claiming that her husband is “selfish” and only interested in himself. During an exclusive interview? with ABC on Good Morning America, she spoke of emotional abuse during the marriage, and pointed out reckless behavior of her husband since being acquitted of the murder of Trayvon Martin.

The couple had originally separated the night before the shooting of Trayvon Martin, but had made attempts to reconcile during the year after the shooting.

The “reckless behavior” Shellie Zimmerman spoke of is frankly a peculiar list, especially for someone trying to avoid the public eye after being acquitted of murder. An Ohio gun group raised over $12,000, which they then sent to Zimmerman so he could buy a new gun. Last month, Zimmerman angered his attorneys, as well as the public, when he toured the Kel-Tech facility intending to purchase a new gun, and stopped to pose and smile for photos with supporters.

Kel-Tech is the manufacturer of the same gun Zimmerman used to shoot Trayvon Martin. He was stopped by police on two separate occasions for speeding, once in northern Texas and once in Florida. Both times, he admitted to officers that he had a gun in the car with him, but was only issued a speeding citation in Florida.

There is also the bizarre story of the roadside rescue involving a family in an SUV that have now disappeared from existence. That incident now appears to have been possibly staged with help of local police officers. Shellie Zimmerman may also now be rightly concerned with the revelation of the past domestic violence incidents which took place before they were married, and the new allegations of rape and child sexual abuse.

"...And so I say to all of you here and to all in the nation tonight that those who appeal to you to hold on to the past do so at the cost of denying you your future. This great rich, restless country can offer opportunity and education and hope to all--all, black and white, North and South, sharecropper and city dweller. These are the enemies: poverty, ignorance, disease. They are our enemies, not our fellow man, not our neighbor. And these enemies too--poverty, disease and ignorance--we shall overcome." ~excerpt from speech by President Lyndon B Johnson, given two days after the start of the Selma Marches in an event that became known as Bloody Sunday.
