How Having HIV/AIDS Is A Good Thing, According To The Tea Party

Well look what the land of sexual deviancy has brought us; not only a deadly disease, but mandatory testing.

This is what is now being trumpeted from the Tea Party website, Freedom Outpost.? Even the announcement of scientific advancements in the area of HIV/AIDS is not enough to convince the Freedom Outpost that overcoming life-threatening illness is actually a good thing. The site says:

Sebelius and?Valerie Jarrett have issued a?statement?claiming they know what’s best for Americans and that ‘scientific developments have advanced our understanding of how to best fight HIV’ and ‘recent research also shows that an important benefit of earlier treatment is that it dramatically reduces the risk of HIV transmission to partners. Furthermore, HIV testing technology is faster, and more accurate than ever before, and HIV drug treatment is less toxic, and easier to administer.? These are the same people that continue to promote the very behavior that brought us AIDS in the first place. I find it incredibly hypocritical.

Even though in certain states, there is already mandatory testing in place for pregnant women, newborns, inmates, sex offenders, certain employment situations, as well as for government jobs when applicable,?this executive order does not state anywhere that anyone must be tested for HIV, as the Freedom Outpost would lead us to believe. ?Those who advocate for healthier human beings, disease prevention, and longer life spans for everyone, would more than likely have no problem with an executive order that states every single American must be tested for HIV, ?considering that since the beginning of the epidemic, almost 70 million people have been infected with the HIV virus and about 35 million people have died of AIDS. Globally, 34.0 million [31.4?35.9 million] people were living with HIV at the end of 2011.

After reading the initial shocking headline that the Freedom Outpost created, to draw attention and create panic no doubt, reading the article itself shows that the headline is indeed false. ?Nowhere in the article during its quoting of this Executive Order, does it prove its headline. ?There are no examples, no wording, nothing that says President Obama is going to make anyone test for anything. ?The executive order states:

Based on these and other data, recommendations for HIV testing and treatment have changed. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force now recommends that clinicians screen all individuals ages 15 to 65 years for HIV, and the Department of Health and Human Services Guidelines for Use of Antiretroviral Agents now recommends offering treatment to all adolescents and adults diagnosed with HIV.

It’s amazing how” recommend” is somehow now synonymous with mandatory, isn’t it?

The point of the article, it would seem, is the?continued?misinformation of everything not up to Tea Party standards, which aren’t very high in the first place by the looks of things. ?While the article does point out the true meaning behind the executive order and the President’s implied intent to get a better reign on the HIV/AIDS epidemic, it also points out the bigotry that that rings oh so truly synonymous with the Tea Party.

With their obvious disdain for homosexuals, media other than Fox News, and the government, their hypocrisy is what stands out the most. ?While supposedly bashing The Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare), the article then points out the benefits:

By the way, under Obamacare, which seems to be imploding before it is even implemented with Democrats already calling for reform,?this executive order says that ‘The Act is expanding access to recommended preventive services with no out-of-pocket costs, including HIV testing, and, beginning in 2014, insurance companies will not be able to deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions, including HIV.’

While it is hard to truly understand the exact point of this witch hunt hysteria that the Freedom Outpost has attempted to create and then debunk in a matter of paragraphs, one thing remains clear: their audience fell for it hook, sink, and snakebite.
